HEXTABLE POSTAL ADDRESSES

Following the conclusion of the Consultation in the Autumn, on 9 November 2020, with no objections at all to the official inclusion of our village in our postal addresses, the Royal Mail have included us in their database. Residents can check out their own property on the Royal Mail website www.royalmail.com Companies and other organisations across the country will gradually incorporate this in their records so we will notice the difference as time goes by.
Beating of the Bounds 2020

Owing to Coronavirus restrictions for large groups it was thought advisable to suggest the walk was carried out this year in pairs or single family groups. This was done over the period of one week between Saturday 12 September and Friday 18 September.
Three Hub members marked out the route on Friday 11 September with signs attached to posts and coloured powder on the ground.
The weather was ideal all week for walkers to enjoy the lovely countryside surrounding our village. We hope next year we will be able to return to doing it in one group as we have done in the past.

Carols on the Green and Christmas Market 2019

This took place in December 2019 - see separate report on News and Events pages.
Hextable Autumn Litter Picking 2019

Residents turned up for the bi-annual litter picking around the village on Saturday 5 October
supported by our friends from the Rapid Relief Team. Many areas were covered but we were unable to do both sides of the far end of Lower Road also Goss Hill on this occasion. An enormous anount of litter is constantly thrown out of cars in this part of our village. Hopefully an extra morning can be chosen to continue this good work
in the future.

Hextable Village Community Picnic 2019

The third annual village picnic took place on the afternoon of 23 June which was a pleasantly dry day, a welcome change from the rainy one last year. A large number of residents turned out to the Heritage Gardens to enjoy lunch out of doors and watch the events in the arena. The programme kicked off at 1 p.m with enthusiastic songs by the Big Sing choir, followed by the children of Simply Performers with their splendid dance routines. There was a good cross section of dogs in the Dog Show  earning their owners prizes. Entertaining also were the music group the Saxophonists. Club K and the Fitness with Friends groups showed residents the benefits of various types of Dance and there were further Dance Performances by children and adults throughout the afternoon. The Sounds Familiar Choir based at the Howard Venue provided a delightful range of songs and the Aerial Gymnastics team entertained spectacularly on their Aerial apparatus. Further songs accompanied by guitar were introduced by a duo called Live 2 The Max and the afternoon concluded with an Open Mic. session. Some photos are displayed below, more can be seen on Hextable Village Life. Thanks to everyone for coming and to all the helpers. Hextable Hub hope this will continue to be a popular annual event for the village.
